Snooker Most Watched Sport On Television
According to a Mintel survey, snooker is the most watched sport on television. The recent Embassy World Professional Snooker Championship achieved an average audience of 8 million for the final session, Monday 2nd May(BARB). The final frame achieved an estimated 13.4m audience (Billiards & Snooker Association figure.)
A total of 26,000 people in a Mintel survey were asked “What sport do you watch on television?” Respondents answered more than one sport, but snooker emerges as the most popular, with 36% naming snooker. This is 2.3% more than the next sport, which was athletics. Football came next, achieving 31.7%.
