Y-TTV Alters Stance On ITV Ownership

Yorkshire-Tyne Tees Television has abandoned its support for a change in ITV ownership rules, and is now calling for the moratorium on takeovers to be extended to 1996. In its submission to the Select Committee on National Heritage on the 1990 Broadcasting Act, the group calls for the extension, with a review in 3 years time. Y-TTV had earlier given its support, (with Central, LWT, Carlton and Scottish) for ownership rules to be changed. This change of stance means the majority of ITV stations are now for an extension of the moratorium and against changes in the ownership rules.
