PPA Calls For Relaxation Of Rules
The Periodical Publishers Association has made a submission to the Department of National Heritage regarding its review on cross-media ownership rules.
The submission presses for further relaxation of the rules and also points out that the current position is unfair in that TV and radio are allowed spin-off magazines, but the reverse is prevented, calling the situation “archaic and restrictive”.
The PPA applauded the Department of National Heritage’s attempt to create a framework suitable for the multi-media environment of the future.
