Virgin is revamping its weekend schedule and moving the Virgin-Labatts album chart from its Sunday afternoon slot. From this Saturday the album chart will go out at 1pm, directly after the Nescafe Big Red Mug Show.
Announcing the changes John Revell, joint director of programmes, said “The chart show move will enable us to consolidate on the recent success of the Nescafe Big Red Mug Show and make Saturdays a really formidable programming force. ” Virgin’s first Rajar figures, for Quarter 2 1993, show that the Saturday morning mix of music and comedy achieves the largest audience of all the station’s output.
There will also be a number of other changes to the weekend schedule with Wendy Lloyd moving from her night-time slot to fill the 4pm to 7pm slot on Saturdays and Sundays.
