Reed Chairman Leaves

Peter Davis has resigned as co-chairman of Reed Elsevier, Europe’s biggest publisher, after differences with colleagues. He left because he felt the new-look executive committee “did not enable him to play an effective role”. Ian Irvine, his deputy, will replace him. Peter Davis joined Reed in 1986 and was instrumental in its merger with Dutch company Elsevier in 1993.
