Times Circulation At Around 600,000
News International own estimates have put the Times’ circulation up to 600,000 since the second price cut last week to 20 pence. The estimates for Saturday’s circulation figures are 620,000. On Saturday the difference in cover price between the Times and Telegraph is now 40 pence; the Times expects Saturday figures to rise further.
The Times’ editor, Peter Stothard has told the FT that he believes 750,000 to be a reasonable circulation target. He also forecast that advertising revenues will become higher, with advertisers pressured into paying a higher rate to reflect the new circulation.
The Telegraph declined to give any estimates this morning on any circulation figures since its price cut last week.
