Emap To Buy 38 French Magazines
Emap has agreed to acquire 38 French magazines as part of 2 deals worth £107.8m. The first deal involves the purchase of Editions Mondiales, which publishes 28 magazines, for £83.7m. The second involves a further 10 titles from 3 separate publishers and is worth £24.1m. The acquisitions will rank Emap third in size in the French magazine industry, with a share of 10%.
The magazines involved include Tel Poche, a pocket-sized TV listings magazine with a circulation of 1.4m, Modes & Travaux, a home interest women’s magazine, and Auto Plus and L’Auto Journal, both motoring titles. The deals are subject to some regulatory conditions but are expected to be completed by July 31.
