Ryder Cup Beats Premier League Football

Unofficial overnight viewing figures for the Ryder Cup, which was transmitted on Sky this weekend show it attracted a peak rating of 8.0 amongst individuals at its climax.

Ratings for Saturday show the golf achieving an average TVR of around 3 for individuals, rising to around 6 for men. However, on Sunday, the close of the championship, there was a peak at 7pm of 8.0 for individuals and 12.9 for men. This was the highest rating of any satellite channel on Sunday afternoon/ evening, although Sky Sports 2 did attract a rating of 12.1 for men at 5pm, during the Newcastle v Chelsea Premier League football match.

As a comparison, the first Premier League football match of the season, which was shown on Sky, attracted a TVR of 13.3 amongst men. SUNDAY – LIVE TVRS
