Sky Sports Signs Five Fight Tyson Deal
Sky television has secured a five-fight deal with Mike Tyson ensuring that any future fight with new WBC champion Frank Bruno, will be shown on the station. The first fight under the new deal will be Tyson’s second comeback fight against Buster Mathis Jr in Las Vegas, shown live on Saturday 4 November.
The Tyson deal is the latest in a line of top boxing names including Bruno, Nigel Benn, Prince Naseem and Chris Eubank who joined Sky from ITV in a reported £50 million deal. Tyson’s fight will form part of a Heavyweight weekend which will include former heavyweight champions Riddick Bowe and Evander Holyfield meeting for a third time.
One month earlier, Sky will have coverage of British former heavyweight champion, Lennox Lewis’ fight against America’s Tommy Morrison in Atlantic City.
