The new film starring Tom Hanks, Apollo 13 officially opened on Saturday 24th September. The film depicts the events surrounding the 13th ill fated mission to land and study the Moon in 1970. Apollo 13 has a PG Certificate.
Figures for the first weekend of the film’s run were £2.4m; during the preview week at selected cinemas, the box office took £2.1m. As a comparison, Batman Returns, one of the biggest films so far this year took £4.7m in its first 3 days.
