Independent Fares Better In April

The latest round of newspaper ABCs, for April, show the Independent and its sister title the Independent on Sunday both recording much healthier ABCs. The Independent was up 7.4% year on year to 291,369; this is its highest monthly figure for over a year, since February 1994. The same applies to the Independent on Sunday; this has recorded an increase of 5.2% year on year to 334,242, again its highest figure since February 1994.

The Sunday Telegraph and the Sunday Sport fared well year on year, up 16.5% and 8.7% respectively. Those titles which did not sell so well in April were the Observer, down 15.54% to 455,268, and the mid-markets, with all titles recording decreases year on year in their monthly figures.
