The new video-on-demand service from Arqiva will be called SeeSaw, the company’s chief executive Pierre-Jean Sebert told delegates at the Cannes Mipcom TV market.
Sebert, who was recently appointed to the role, said: “We’re delighted to confirm the name of SeeSaw for Arqiva’s VoD service.”
The broadcast infrastructure company acquired the technology for the Project Kangaroo platform – the joint VOD project from the BBC, ITV, Channel 4 and BT – which was blocked by the Competition Commission earlier this year.
According to reports, SeeSaw has signed Channel 4 and BBC Worldwide as content partners ahead of its launch in the next few months, with other partners expected to be announced by the end of October.
At the start of September, Arqiva appointed former UKTV executive John Keeling to oversee programming and marketing for SeeSaw.
