Centaur Media saw revenue fall 28% year on year in the three months to the end of October.

The publisher of trade magazines including Marketing Week and The Lawyer said that there were signs of market stabilisation, with print and online delivering “similar levels of recovery” which were “more pronounced in September and October”.

Speaking about the print closure of Haymarket title Media Week and the restructuring of Revolution magazine, Mike Lally, Centaur group finance director, said: “We are already market leaders against a number of Haymarket titles but there may be a marginal benefit to us [in the restructure] of titles such as Revolution.”

Overall, said Centaur, “while levels of forward visibility [in the market] remain low, the board is confident that the group is well positioned to take advantage of a continued recovery with the prospect of a return to growth during 2010.”
