ITV1’s I’m a Celebrity … Get Me Out of Here! secured the highest ratings during the all-important peak slot last night.
Over 8.9 million peak viewers tuned in to see Justin re-unite with Colin, leaving three remaining celebrities in the jungle to battle it out for this year’s crown – Kim, Gino and Jimmy.
The hour and a half long show attracted 8.3 million average viewers and a 33.7% audience share between 8.30pm and 9pm, despite competition from BBC One’s new Bang Goes the Theory programme and the latest Gavin & Stacey series.
Bang Goes the Theory: The Human Power Station, which saw a team demonstrate how much electricity people use without realising, pulled in 2.6 million average viewers and a 11.2% share between 8pm and 9pm.
The all-new Gavin & Stacey comedy series followed with a high of 5 million viewers and a 19.2% share between 9pm and 9.30pm, before QI, which picked up 3.6 million peak viewers and 14.5% share in the second half of the peak-hour.
At the same time, the last in the series of Channel 4’s The Queen with Diana Quick secured over 2.1 million peak viewers and a 8.3% share, while BBC Two’s Natural World banked 1.6 million peak viewers and a 6.2% share.
Over on Channel Five, the Live UEFA Europa League Football match between Fulham v CSKA Sofia attracted 1.1 million average viewers and a 4.9% audience share between 7.30pm and 10.10pm.
Earlier on in the evening, ITV1’s Coronation Street secured the top soap spot with a high of more than 9 million viewers.
