Department for children, schools and families worked with Incentivated and the Arts Council to encourage parents and carers to enjoy books with children from an early age by offering a free book per household.

Target Audience: Parents and carers of young children

Medium: TV ads featured a prominent text call to action (text BOOK along with their name, house no and postcode to 80800) to receive a free book. Advert ran on daytime TV across 34 channels for four weeks.

Conclusion: Almost 250,000 people texted, with 8,500 received on the first day alone. This represents 32% of UK households with pre-school age children.
