ITV1’s final Above Suspicion: The Red Dahlia won the 9pm peak-hour slot with a high of more than 7 million viewers last night.
The three-part drama, which started on Monday evening, attracted over 6.8 million average viewers and a 25.2% audience share during the 9pm to 10pm peak slot, well ahead of its rival terrestrial channels.
Meanwhile, BBC One’s New Tricks, which was scheduled in at the last minute due the to football being cancelled, picked up 3.8 million average viewers and a 14.1% share.
At the same time, Channel 4’s Gordon Ramsay’s F Word, which has reached the semi-final stage, pulled in 2.6 million average viewers, while BBC Two’s new Horizon: The Secret Life of the Dog picked up 2.4 million viewers.
Five’s NCIS – the first of two episodes concluding series five – attracted 1.8 million viewers, compared to the second episode’s 2.2 million, which was on at the later time of 10pm to 11pm.
Channel 4’s Celebrity Big Brother also pulled in 3 million average viewers during the post peak-hour slot.
Earlier on in the evening, BBC One’s one-off The Big Freeze: A BBC News Special – a 30-minute documentary looking at the snowfall across Britain – attracted a high of more than 6 million viewers and a 22.2% average audience share.
