Maurice Allowed To Poach Saatchi Staff Court Is Told

On the second day of the High Court hearing into an injunction which Saatchi & Saatchi is seeking against Maurice Saatchi, the court was told that Maurice is entitled to poach any staff from his former agency, and cause considerable damage to it, as long as he does not incite Saatchi employees to break their contracts. Maurice Saatchi’s QC, Gordon Pollock said his client was also able to legally take clients from his former company to the New Saatchi Agency.

The injunction seeks to stop Maurice and 3 other executives from breaking their contracts by illegally solicitying Saatchi’s employees. Charles Gray, QC for Saatchis said the departing executives had a clear conflict of interest between their duties to Saatchis and their desire to join the new agency. The hearing continues.

Charles To Join Brother

An affidavit was read out in court stating that Charles Saatchi intends to join his brother Maurice in the New Saatchi Agency as soon as possible.
