ISBA Policy Conference ’95

There was a record attendance at the ISBA policy conference which was held in London yesterday. The new Director General of ISBA and the conference chairman John Hooper said ” Many companies are keen to attend and discuss the real issues facing advertisers in the coming year.”

The tone of the conference was marked by a clear movement forward, with subjects under discussion including the implications of interactive media, dubbed the “New Media”, and John Mellon, director of Reed Elsevier started off conference with a speech on how digital technology has revolutionised the print medium.

There was also a focus on the need for a greater understanding of the opportunities for the media in Europe. Peter Mitchell, the president of the World Federation of Advertisers, gave a speech on ISBA’s role in Europe and discussed the role of advertisers in shaping future communication policies for Europe.
