Successful Launch For OKTV

OKTV, a new interactive television service on cable, was successfully launched in Scotland last Saturday. The station believes itself to be the first of its kind in the UK. A spokesperson from the channel said: “OKTV carries soaps, quiz shows, Oprah Winfrey style programmes, etc. It is similar to Channel 4 and ITV.” OKTV also carries programmes from STV and Grampian.

Viewers can interact with television programmes via hand-sets connected to the cable receivers. Certain topics can be chosen in current affairs programmes and answers can be selected during quiz shows.

The spokesperson from OKTV confirmed that Grounds Morris handles creative work and media buying will be carried out by Media Dimensions. A national launch is expected next year.
