Q3 Rajar Figures: National Radio Stations

The latest Rajar figures show that BBC Radio now has a share of listening of 48.9%, giving it a slight lead over Commercial Radio which has a share of 48.8%. This is a turnaround from Quarter 2 1996 when Commercial Radio’s share was 49.3% and BBC Radio’s share was 48.6%.

The results for the National Commercial stations remained fairly constant with Quarter 2. Virgin (AM) was the only station to record a loss in its weekly reach, down from 7% to 6%. BBC Radio 1 and BBC Radio 3 both increased their reach by 1 % point against the previous quarter, while the other BBC national stations maintained their previous levels.
