Channel 5 has announced a $10m deal with Columbia TriStar which covers 144 titles. The material, which includes television film premieres, recent blockbusters and mini series, will be available when the channel launches early next year.
Films include Streetfighter, with Jean Claude Van Damme, Robin Hood; Men In Tights, Next Karate Kid and Money Train.
Dawn Airey, director of programmes at Channel 5 said: “This agreement is a significant moment in the channel’s development. The Columbia TriStar titles fit into our modern, mainstream schedule perfectly – quality entertainment with contemporary values.”
