RAJAR figures for Q1 2010 show that Magic 105.4 once again has the largest weekly reach of the London stations, riding the wave of a 10.1% period on period increase.

Magic 105.4 now has a reach of around 2 million listeners each week, despite a 2.2% year on year fall, while its share of listening was up 0.2 percentage points year on year to 5.9%. The station’s average hours per listener figure also increased, by 6.9% to 6.2 hours.

It was a pretty good period for 95.8 Capital Radio, which saw its reach grow by around 2% year on year and 4% period on period to 1.9 million listeners, while its share of listening grew 1.3 percentage points year on year, to 6%.

There was an impressive rise in 95.8 Capital Radio’s average hours per listener figure too, up 26.4 percentage points year on year to 6.7 hours in Q1 2010.

Although Heart 106.2 FM’s weekly reach was down 4.3% on last year, it did manage to record a period on period rise of 0.2%, taking its average to around 1.9 million listeners. Its share of listening now stands at 4.7% following a year on year fall of 1.2 percentage points. The station suffered a relatively large decline in the average number of hours people spend with it, down 15.9 percentage points year on year (-7 percentage points period on period) to 5.3 hours.

Like Heart 106.2 FM, Kiss 100 FM’s reach fell year on year (-2.3%) but rose period on period (+4%), to 1.7 million listeners. Its share of listening now stands at 4.1% after a period on period fall of 0.5 percentage points, while a 10.5% year on year decline puts its average hour per listener figure at 5.1 hours.

Absolute Radio London and Total Absolute Radio (London) both saw period on period declines in weekly reach, down 12.9% and 14.1% respectively. Absolute Radio London now has a reach of 600,000 listeners, while Total Absolute Radio (London) reaches 690,000.

Although the share of listening figures at the two stations remained relatively static in Q1, their average hours per listener figures both enjoyed big boosts.

Absolute Radio London now has a 2% share of listening, with its average hours per listener up a massive 48.9% year on year to 7 hours. And listeners are sticking with Total Absolute Radio (London) for an average of 8 hours following a 35.6% jump.
