The Independent Television Commission has issued a formal warning to Carlton Television in relation to an episode of its regional programme London Bridge which showed a rape scene.
The ITC concluded the episode was in serious breach of the ITC Programme Code because the scene was “unacceptably extended and excessively detailed”. This is the first time Carlton has received a formal warning and it would have to breach the same section of ITC code a number of times before a fine was issued.
