Observer In One-Off Price Cut
The Observer yesterday sold for 50p, half its normal price, in the London region. The promotion was heavily advertised during LWT’s movie premiere of Bram Stoker’s Dracula on Saturday night. A spokeswoman at the newspaper said that it was a one-off price-cut. The Observer‘s September ABC figure showed a decline in sales year-on-year of 2.04% to 466,910 (Subscribers see ABC Feature).
…The Times is continuing its ‘summer’ price-promotion, with the Monday edition still selling for 10p. The ‘unbelievable offer’ it was advertising last week is a reader offer for a free return ticket on Eurostar. The Daily Telegraph meanwhile is also continuing its promotion, with the Monday edition costing 10p if a coupon is presented.
