Capital Radio Profits Up
Capital Radio plc have released their pre tax profits for the year to September 1996. Profits are up 21% on last year’s figure to £32.1 million. Turnover is £77.8 million, which is an increase of 15%.
Ian Irvine, Chairman of Capital Radio, said ” Turnover and headline profit before tax are once again at record levels, and operating margins have improved for the fifth successive year.”
Capital have recently re-signed their most popular DJ Chris Tarrant in an attempt to fight off the increased competition in the London market, launched their own website and are soon to be opening their Capital Radio Café.
Capital have also announced that they have made an offer for My Kinda Town plc, joint partners in the Capital Radio Café.
