TV Overnights: BBC’s Holby City and Outnumbered hold the peak spot

BBC’s Holby City and Outnumbered achieved the top ratings for the peak slot of 9pm to 10pm last night.

Holby City, starting at 8.30pm, peaked at 5.3 million viewers, with an average viewing figure of 5.2 million and an average share of 22.8%. This was followed by Outnumbered at 9.30pm, which managed an average 3.5 million viewers and 15.1% share.

Elsewhere, ITV1’s police drama The Bill had an average viewing figure of 2.4 million and 10.5% share, and was closely followed by Five’s long-running CSI: Miami, which also managed 2.4 million viewers and a slightly lower share of 10.3%.

Over on BBC Two, That Mitchell and Webb Look achieved an average of 1.7 million viewers and 7.5% average share, while Channel 4’s The Fairy Jobmother had 2 million viewers and an average share of 8.8%.

Earlier in the evening, Emmerdale and Eastenders secured the highest ratings. ITV1’s Emmerdale attracted 6.1 million viewers and an average share of 31.4% between 7.00pm and 7.30pm, and an hour long episode of BBC One’s Eastenders, airing at 7.30pm, managed 8.7 million viewers and a share of 40.9%.

BBC One dominated the morning television schedule, with ITV1 briefly taking over in the afternoon with 60 Minute Makeover at 3pm, and The Chase at 5pm.

Channel 4’s Deal or No Deal, airing at 4.10pm, achieved top ratings for its slot as usual, with an average 1.5 million viewers and 15.4% share.
