Independent Radio Stations Show Increased Listenership
The latest JNLR/MRBI Interim Report, which covers the six month period from April to September, shows that the Irish independent radio stations are continuing to increase their listenership.
The survey shows that nationwide 54% of listeners tuned into the independent stations each weekday compared to 34% for RTE Radio 1 and 29% for 2FM. For the same six month period last year, the independent sector had a listenership figure of 52%.
The Interim Report relates only to the stations in Cork and Dublin as the sub-samples for most of the local stations would be inadequate for such an analysis.
