HMS Belfast was today the setting for ITV’s unveiling of its Christmas Schedule. The programmes that will be featured over the festive period include: Christmas With The Royal Navy, in which Anthea Turner reunites naval families around the world for Christmas; The Beast, a two-part story from the creator of Jaws Peter Benchley; a Tom Jones special titled For One Night Only and various festive editions of popular ITV programmes such as The Bill and Emmerdale.
ITV’s Christmas day line up will include: Dance!, presented by Torvill and Dean; an adaptation of E Nesbit’s novel The Treasure Seekers; a film premiere of the family comedy Dennis; Christmas in Coronation Street and Heartbeat plus the film premiere of Remains Of The Day, which stars Emma Thompson and Anthony Hopkins.
There will also be special one off programmes featuring the talents of camp comic Bob Downe, Rolf Harris, Joe Pasquale, and Jeff Green. Des O’Connor, Cilla Black, Michael Barrymore and Phillip Schofield also have Christmas editions of the their shows. Dramas to be shown at Christmas include Circle of Deceit starring Dennis Waterman, Element Of Doubt which features Nigel Havers and Gina McKee and Cuts a comedy drama from writer David Nobbs which stars Peter Davison and Timothy West.
