BBC One’s New Tricks secured the peak position of 9pm to 10pm last night, attracting an average of 3.7 million viewers, and a 16.6% share.
This was despite competition from ITV 1 drama The Bill, which secured an average viewing figure of 2.6 million, and held a 12% audience share.
Five’s CSI Miami came up close behind, with 2.1 million viewers, and a 9.7% share.
Channel 4’s The Fairy Jobmother achieved 1.8 million viewers and an 8.3% share for the same slot, down on last week’s 2 million viewers and 8.8% share.
On BBC Two, That Mitchell and Webb Look managed 1.6 million viewers and a 7.4% share for the first half of the peak slot – slightly down from last week’s 1.7 million viewers and 7.5% share. Shooting Stars, airing from 9.30pm until 10pm, secured an average of 1.5 million viewers and a 6.9% share.
Earlier on in the evening, ITV1’s Emmerdale, airing at 7pm, gained 6.2 million viewers and a 32.3% average share.
BBC One’s Eastenders, airing at 7.30pm, attracted 8 million viewers, and a share of 39.5%. At 8pm, Holby City ensured that BBC One kept its top position, achieving 5.3 million viewers and a 25.5.% share.
BBC One dominated the morning television schedule, with ITV taking over in the afternoon as usual.
