TV Overnights: Who do you think you are? secures peak position again

Who do you think you are?

For the third week in a row, BBC One’s Who do you think you are? won the peak slot of 9pm to 10pm, with an average audience of 5 million, and a 21.3% share. However, it was down on last weeks episode, which managed 5.4 million viewers, and 22.2% share.

This was despite competition from ITV1’s Identity, which secured 3.4 million viewers and a 14.5% share, and BBC Two’s Dragons’ Den, which attracted an audience of 2.8 million and a 12% share.

Elsewhere, Channel Four’s documentary series The Hospital achieved 1.8 million viewers and a share of 7.5% – slightly up on last weeks 1.7 million viewers and a 7.3% share. Five’s The Rookie managed 900,00 viewers and a 4.6% share.

Earlier in the evening, ITV1 dominated with its soaps line-up. Emmerdale, airing at 7pm, attracted an average viewing figure of 6.8 million, and a share of 35.7%. The first episode of Coronation Street, airing at 7.30pm, secured 8.1 million viewers and a 39.3% share, while the second episode, at 8.30pm, managed 7.9 million and 34.9%.

BBC One’s Eastenders, airing at 8pm, secured 8.5 million viewers and a 37.7% share.

Daytime ratings were mainly dominated by BBC One, with ITV1 and BBC Two winning some slots in the afternoon.
