TV Viewing Summary W/E 11/08/96 – Deja View
Repeat showings of popular series have performed well in this week’s top thirty programmes list. Detective series Inspector Morse and A Touch Of Frost have both achieved audiences of over 9 million (9.42 and 9.29 million respectively), which beats the first run series of Wycliffe which only had 9.27 million. BBC1’s hospital drama series Casualty achieved an audience of 7.39 million for the second showing of the last series, while Heartbeat was watched by 8.40 million people. Finally the repeat showings of comedy series One Foot In The Grave and the film comedy Uncle Buck were watched by audiences of 8.22 and 8.88 million.
The new series of BBC1’s detective programme Out Of The Blue has started off well, attracting an audience of 8.13 million and a consolidated share of viewing of 40%. Channel 4’s top rated programme is unsurprisingly Brookside. The episode shown on Friday August 9th was watched by 4.59 million.
Average television viewing for the week ending August 11th 1996 has risen by 5.75% for all individuals when compared to the same week last year. In Astra Panel viewing of all channels has risen by 8.7% in comparison to last year’s figure.
