The BBC and Flextech TV announced that preliminary talks for a possible joint venture are taking place. A spokesperson from the BBC said: “Preliminary talks are being held with Flextech on the basis of the BBC’s future plans for digital broadcasting *(BBC Restructure to Address the Digital Age). Nothing has been finalised and talks with other parties may be held.”
Flextech also confirmed that talks are being held with Pearson and Cox Communications for the acquisition of UK Gold and UK Living. Rumours in July indicated Flextech’s interest in the channels *(Flextech Pearson Announcement Expected Soon).
