Post World Cup July saw falls in viewing share for both BBC1 and ITV1.
BBC One posted a slight decrease amongst all home viewing share, whilst ITV1 saw its total drop substantially on 2009’s figures.
Channel 4’s viewing share remained unchanged on last year’s figures, possibly due to the continued interest in the final series of Big Brother.
BBC One average viewing share across all television homes slipped to 21.4%, down 0.2 percentage points.
ITV1 saw its viewing share decreased by 1.5 percentage points on 2009’s figures, to stand at 14.5%.
Channel 4’s viewing share was static on last year’s figures, with a share of 6.5%.

In digital homes, BBC One saw its viewing share increase 0.4 percentage points year on year, to 20.9%, while ITV1’s share was down 0.7 percentage points to 14.1%.
BBC Two was up by 0.2 percentage points, to 7.1%.
Channel 4’s share went up by 0.4 percentage points, to stand at 5.9%, with Five’s share a non-mover at 4.7%.

July saw BBC One grab a 25% share of viewing in homes that had access to Freeview and an 18.3% share in homes with Sky, while ITV1 had an 17% share in Freeview homes and a 11.9% share in Sky homes.
Other channels had a 53.1% share in Sky homes and a 35.3% share in Freeview homes.
