TV Overnights: Mistresses wins top ratings for peak slot

BBC One’s Mistresses secured the top ratings for the peak slot of 9pm to 10pm last night, with an audience of 4.2 million, and a share of 18%.

This was slightly up on last week’s figures of just over 4 million, and a 17% share.

ITV’s Florida: Paradise Lost provided competition, with 3.3 million viewers and a 14% share.

Elsewhere, BBC Two’s Digging for Britain secured 2.1 million viewers and a 9.1% share, while Five’s The Hotel Inspector also managed an audience of 2.1 million, with a slightly lower share of 6.8%.

Channel 4’s Hurricane Katrina: Caught on Camera attracted just under 2 million viewers, and gained an 8.4% share.

ITV1’s two-part Emmerdale won both its slots, with the first (7pm to 7.30pm) securing 6.1 million viewers and a 31% share, and the second (8pm to 8.30pm) attracting 6.4 million viewers and a 28.5% share.

BBC One’s Eastenders won its slot, from 7.30pm to 8pm, with 7.9 million viewers and a 37.3% share.

BBC One dominated throughout the morning, winning most of the slots, with BBC Two taking over in the afternoon as usual.
