Last night, BBC One’s Motorway Cops won the peak hour of 9pm to 10pm again, with 4.4 million viewers and a 22% share.
This was despite competition from ITV1’s Help, I Caught it Abroad 2, also airing from 9pm to 10pm.
The documentary attracted 2.3 million viewers, and gained a share of 10.1%.
Elsewhere, Five’s CSI: Miami won 2.3 million viewers and a 9.7% share , while Channel 4’s Ultimate Big Brother secured 2.2 million viewers and a 9.4% share.
BBC Two’s The Big School Lottery managed to secure an audience of 865,000, and a share of 3.7%.
BBC One won the first 45 minutes of the 10pm to 11pm slot, with the BBC News at Ten from 10pm to 10.30pm (4.5 million viewers and a 22.2% share), and My Story from 10.30pm to 11pm (2.4 million viewers and a 16% share).
However, Channel 4’s This is England ’86 (10pm to 11.05pm) managed to win the last 15 minutes of the 10pm to 11pm slot. The first episode of a four-part series peaked at 2.9 million viewers, before settling down to an average of 2.6 million viewers and a 14.7% share.
Earlier in the evening, BBC One’s Holby City won its 8pm to 9pm slot, with 5.4 million viewers and a 19% share.
ITV1’s Emmerdale won its 7pm to 7.30pm slot with 6.3 million viewers and a 31.7% share, and BBC One’s Eastenders won its 7.30pm to 8pm slot with 7.7 million viewers and a 34.9% share.
During the day, BBC One won the highest ratings during the morning and early afternoon, as usual. BBC Two took over briefly in the late afternoon.
