Northcliffe Launch Regional Magazines

Northcliffe Newspapers will be launching two new regional magazines, called Style and XS.

Style will be a lifestyle glossy magazine for North Staffordshire and South Cheshire aimed at the local AB population and costing £1.50. It will have 56 pages and publish on the first day of every month, with the first copy appearing on 1 October.

Northcliffe used a geodemographic targeting system to identify AB households in the area. 13,000 of these homes will receive a copy of Style with a further 1,500 copies sold via subscription and selected newsagents. The expected readership will be around 50,000.

XS will launch on 16 September as a fortnightly youth magazine for the Lincoln, Skegness, Boston and Newark areas. The two main selling points for the magazine will be listings and vouchers, with the listings sections providing a guide to sports, pubs/clubs, music, art and theatre events.

Though not specifically aimed at students there will be significant numbers of money-off vouchers and the magazine will be distributed at freshers fairs, night-clubs and pubs. With a cover price of 27p all copies will be audited by ABC and the first 15,000 copies will be sponsored by Lincoln’s regional Co-Op.
