ITV1 also had a ratings-winning Saturday night – The X Factor, which saw the final hopefuls perform for the last time to try and bank a place in the live shows, picked up more than 11.2 million average viewers and a 44.7% share between 7.05pm and 9pm.

When Piers Met Lord Sugar followed with over 5.4 million peak viewers and a 21.5% share between 9pm and 10.15pm, which was enough to secure the top ratings for the majority of the peak-hour.
