Biggest Broadcast Sponsorship Begins
Tonight’s episode of Coronation Street will carry the UK’s biggest ever broadcast sponsorship deal, with Cadbury paying £10 million for the soap to carry its logo in credits and break bumpers *Cadbury To Sponsor The Street.
As well as the on-air sponsorship credits, which will see an animated version of The Street turn into chocolate, there will also be interactive competitions giving viewers the opportunity to win prizes. From 23 September the end credits will reveal a picture of a lucky object; if viewers can match this symbol to the picture inside wrappers of cadbury’s chocolate bars then a prize will be won.
The media package was brokered between TMD Carat and Laser, the Granada Media Group sales arm.
