The Family Channel, which launches on the BSkyB satellite service on September 1st, will provide a positive, uplifting service, with “Tune in to the affirmative” as one of its jingles.
The aim will not be to mirror today’s violent society, but rather to set their own basic values of old-fashioned adventure and romance.
Most programmes will be imported from the American parent company, International Family Entertainment, but there are plans for British drama, and the station will launch with a British game show based on Trivial Pursuit.
