Reuters Delays UK Media Launch

Reuters’ new packages for the media and advertising industry will not – for the moment – be coming to the UK. Adways, which includes Reuters Advertising and Media briefing (news primarily); MediaWorld (ratecards) and AdValue (a trading and analysis system, used in over 1,200 US media companies), is to be launched in Germany in July.

Kevin O’Brien, International Marketing Manager of Reuters Advertising and Information Services, told an ADMAP conference audience yesterday that Reuters’ goal was common platforms across Continental Europe, but that Germany was “the most interesting European market currently.”

Reuters are said to be aiming to work with – rather than compete with – DDS in the UK.
