ITV1’s I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! attracted a peak audience of more than 9.6 million viewers during the all-important peak hour last night.
The 90 minute programme, which saw Gillian McKeith finally leave the Australian jungle, pulled in over 8.9 million average viewers and a 33% share between 8.30pm and 10pm, peaking with 9.6 million between 9pm and 9.30pm.
The reality show saw off competition from BBC One’s Accused, which secured a lower 3.8 million average viewers and a 14.1% audience share during the 9pm to 10pm slot.
Over on BBC Two, a decent audience of more than 2.5 million tuned in for Ian Hislop’s Age of the Do-Gooders – the first of a new three part series dubbed ‘Britain’s moral makeover’.
Elsewhere, Channel 4’s Coppers banked 1.3 million average viewers and a 5.1% share, while Channel 5’s Extreme Fishing with Robson Green settled on a low 784,000 viewers between 9pm and 10pm.
The soaps dominated the early evening slots, with ITV1’s Coronation Street claiming the highest ratings over Emmerdale and BBC One’s Eastenders (Corrie attracted a high of 10.5 million viewers compared to Eastenders 9.7 million peak audience).
