TV Overnights: ITV1’s Kidnap and Ransom shares the peak ratings

ITV1’s three-part Kidnap and Ransom series was forced to share the peak-hour ratings with BBC One’s Come Fly with Me last night.

In the 9pm to 9.30pm slot, BBC One’s Come Fly with Me dominated with a high of more than 5.8 million peak viewers and a 23.8% average share. However, ITV1 secured the peak ratings during the 9.30pm to 10pm slot with 4.3 million viewers and a 18.9% share.

ITV1 also had a good run in the lead up to the 9pm watershed, with Emmerdale and Coronation Street both banking the top spot. Emmerdale pulled in more than 7.8 million viewers, while Coronation Street peaked with 8.6 million.

BBC One’s Eastenders also managed to get a look-in during the early evening slots, attracting 9.8 million viewers and a 41.9% average share between 7.30pm and 8pm – the highest ratings of the night.

BBC One’s Human Planet also achieved a decent number, with 4.8 million average viewers and a 19.8% share tuning in between 8pm and 9pm.

On Channel 4, Relocation, Relocation attracted 1.7 million viewers in the 8pm to 9pm slot, while the channel’s new six-part series Rome Wasn’t Built in a Day banked 1.6 million viewers during the 9pm to 10pm peak-hour.

Meanwhile, BBC Two’s Michel Roux’s Service continued with 1.2 million viewers in the pre-watershed slot, before Men of Rock pulled in an equal 1.2 million average viewers.

Over on Channel 5, a new documentary Secrets of the Blitz: Revealed picked up more than a million viewers between 8pm and 9pm, while the second and final Jack the Ripper – The Definitive Story achieved an average audience of 1.2 million viewers.
