Press rumours that Independent Radio Sales, part of Katz International, would be disbanded after losing major clients including EMAP and GWR (Newsline 29/02) have been scotched after revelations that the company is being restructured and renamed.
IRS will now be called Katz Radio Sales and is part of the shake-up which has resulted from the imminent appointment of Simon Lynds (of Scott Lynds) as president and chief executive on 25 March.
Katz international will also change its name to Katz (SL) International. A major part of Lynds’s role will be to build both the radio and cable TV sales operations. Katz Radio Sales will have a new sales team of promoted IRS staff.
