TV Overnights: Spurs game wins 6.7m viewers for ITV1

Spurs v AC Milan

ITV1’s coverage of the UEFA Champions League Live game scored a high of more than 6.7 million viewers last night.

The Tottenham v AC Milan match attracted over 5.2 million average viewers and a 22.3% share between 7.30pm and 10pm, stealing the limelight from Masterchef and Jamie’s Dream School.

BBC One was ITV1’s closest competitor during prime time. Waterloo Road pulled in more than 4.7 million average viewers and a 19.9% share in the 8pm to 9pm slot, while Masterchef picked up 4.4 million viewers and a 18.4% share in the 9pm to 10pm peak-hour.

Channel 5’s NCIS also proved to be a popular choice among viewers in the 9pm to 10pm peak-slot, securing more than 2 million average viewers and a 8.5% share.

At the same time, the second episode of Jamie’s Dream School achieved a fairly low 1.8 million viewers and a 7.9% share, while BBC Two’s new 23 Weeks: The Price of Life – an Adam Wishart’s documentary – banked 1.9 million average viewers and an equal 7.9% share.
