It is understood that Warner Bros will not now be launching its WBTV channel. The animation and family entertainment channel was due to launch in October but was delayed after a wrangle with Rupert Murdoch’s BSkyB *WBTV Launch Delayed.
The decision to scrap the channel however is thought to be more to do with internal arguments between Turner Broadcasting and Time Warner, the US media owners, which merged this year. Turner was concerned that WBTV would offer too much competition to its existing channels such as TNT and the Cartoon Network.
