Lowe Group Creates New Media Company
The Lowe Group has today announced that it will be creating a new media company across Europe called Western International Media Europe.
The company is the result of a joint venture between the Lowe Group, Initiative Media and Western International Media of the USA. The network will launch in January from Lowe’s headquarters in London and a phased roll out across Europe will follow, with a target completion date of December 1998. It will operate as a standalone venture alongside the Initiative Media network, with the three partners looking for synergy in areas of non-conflicting operations such as admin and finance, as well as areas where combined volume leverage will benefit their clients.
Western International Media Europe will report to a European board of directors consisting of representatives from all three partners: Mike Smallwood – media director, Lowe Group Europe, who will become chief executive; Michael Kassan, president of Western International Media USA; and Marie-Jose Forissier – world-wide chairman of Initiative Media.
