TV Overnights: Chelsea v Man Utd scores 8m viewers for ITV1

ITV1’s coverage of the UEFA Champions League Live match between Chelsea and Manchester United scored a high of more than 8 million viewers last night.

The game, which saw Wayne Rooney provide the only goal, pulled in 6.4 million average viewers and a 27.1% audience share from 7.30pm onwards.

Over on BBC One, Waterloo Road attracted a decent 4.1 million average viewers during the pre-watershed slot, while Masterchef continued with 4.4 million average viewers in the 9pm to 10pm peak-hour.

At the same time, BBC Two’s The Crimson Petal and the White pulled in 2.1 million average viewers and a 8.5% share, while Channel 5’s popular NCIS settled on 1.9 million average viewers and a 7.7% share.

Jamie’s Dream School followed, picking up just over a million viewers and a 4.2% share for Channel 4 during the 9pm to 10pm slot.
