Guardian Makes Media Section Grow
The Guardian newspaper is expanding its current media section and turning it into a stand alone supplement. The change will occur from Monday January 13th and will include special new features such as: an advertising column written by industry insiders; a weekly profile of a media consumer and a section on how to handle the ‘PR Crisis of the Week’.
To coincide with the change the Guardian is also launching a Media Guardian website that will provide an information service to people who have an interest in the media industry. The site will offer a new features column on US Media and an opportunity to create your own ‘dream TV schedule’. The Media Guardian website will have links to RecruitNet and have excerpts from the Guardian Media Guide book.
Stephen Palmer, marketing director at the Guardian, says: “From January the Guardian will be taking its hugely successful media section into the next phase with the launch of a dedicated media magazine.”
