TV Overnights: Penultimate Monroe secures 4.1m viewers

The penultimate Monroe banked a high of more than 4.1 million viewers for ITV1 last night.

The hour-long episode attracted 3.8 million average viewers and a 16.9% share during the all-important 9pm to 10pm slot.

BBC One’s New Tricks was hot on its heels with 3.6 million average viewers and a 16.2% share.

On BBC Two, the new four-part series A History of Celtic Britain started on a high of 2.1 million viewers and a 9% share during the 9pm to 10pm peak-hour, while Channel 4’s new Bodyshock special Dad’s Having a Baby pulled in 1.5 million viewers and a 7% share.

Over on Channel 5, the Live UEFA Europa League Football game between Benfica and PSV Eindhoven achieved an average audience of 737,000 viewers and a 3.3% share.

In the early evening slot, BBC One’s Eastenders secured the highest overall ratings – peaking with more than 7.7 million viewers.
