BT and Microsoft have announced that Digital Equipment Corporation will be their first strategic partner for a new range of corporate intranet services (private Internets).
Intranet services will be marketed by BT in the UK and it is intended to make them available globally using Digital’s world-wide services organisation. Digital will provide BT corporate customers with the necessary components to self-build intranets faster and more easier than at present.
Commenting on the deal Rupert Gavin, BT Director of Internet and Multimedia services, said: “Together we are responding to current demand from businesses that want to build and manage their own intranet services.”
